Simulation-based Training for Initial Response Personnel

This is a performance (operations) level course designed to provide training necessary to develop plans, policies, and procedures to manage the response to any type of critical incident in participants’ jurisdictions. The course offers a unique blend of classroom presentations, case studies, and practical exercises on a 96 sq. ft. model city. It addresses, in detail, the considerations required to be addressed in a jurisdiction’s plans for an all-hazards response to a critical incidents and how to effectively integrate ICS/NIMS and Unified Command principles to that local response.

Training enables course graduates to:
•Develop plans, policies, and procedures required for safe and effective prevention and response to any type of critical incident
•Coordinate agencies and resources required for the response to any type of critical incident
•Implement appropriate training and conduct basic level training for their agencies

This is the capstone course in the U.S. for preparing first-responders and especially managers in state and local emergency response agencies to safely and effectively deploy first-responders and unify command during a multi-agency/multi-disciplinary response to any type of critical incident.
