
Supervisory Institute
The Supervisory Institute is designed to provide participants from all divisions of the agency with the foundation on which to build their future as law enforcement managers. Individual modules will introduce:
–Practical leadership concepts
–How ethical standards relate to decision making and leadership
–Strategies for effective communication skills, dealing with communication barriers, and conflict resolution
–Current human resource and risk management requirements
–An examination of the legal requirements for supervisors
–The importance and practice of performance evaluations
–An examination of the role of the first line supervisor in the success of the agency
–Employee accountability for today’s workforce

Students must notify the sponsoring training region/provider at least 14 days prior to the training if they are not able to attend the training. If sufficient notification is not provided, your agency may be restricted from receiving future regional POST grant funding (class, scholarship, training equipment) for a period of up to six (6) months. Any penalties issued will be at the sole discretion of the training region boards.
