At-Scene Collision Investigation (Level I) is the first level of instruction for entry level officers and investigators. This class will introduce students to the importance of a quality investigation using the following techniques: identifying and documenting roadway evidence, report writing, skid-mark analysis, scale diagramming with new technologies (photogrammetry, drones, point clouds, etc.), identification of a vehicle in a side-slip or yaw, scene photography, an introduction to time and distance analysis in collision investigations, and an introduction to airborne equations.
Students should expect substantial course work and projects to reinforce course instruction.
All attendees will need to bring a laptop computer with an available USB port. Course materials will be distributed electronically via a thumb drive.
