Train the Trainer (Arapahoe County)

Train the Trainer is a 40-hour, week-long instructor development class that fulfills the Colorado POST Instructional Methodology Program requirements to be certified as an academy instructor in Colorado.

This course will prepare instructors to develop and deliver training in a variety of classroom and skills-based settings. It is a highly interactive, performance-based class. Students will have the opportunity to work with a small group, using the concepts presented during class to develop, document, and present an original training. Students will also give other shorter presentations during the week.

All of the class content is based on evidence-informed adult learning concepts from both academics and work-place research and will prepare students to build highly effective training.

Students must notify the sponsoring training region/provider at least 14 days prior to the training if they are not able to attend the training. If sufficient notification is not provided, your agency may be restricted from receiving future regional POST grant funding (class, scholarship, training equipment) for a period of up to six (6) months. Any penalties issued will be at the sole discretion of the training region boards.
