Driving Instructor Course
This class is now full. At this time, I’m only taking waitlist requests from officers who are in the Greater Metro Training Region. Please send your request to coordinator@greatermetroregion.com
The Driving Instructor Training Program will provide student instructors with the necessary skills and experience to successfully teach driving skills to a wide variety of students and will prepare them to teach as a Colorado POST recognized Driving Instructor in both an academy or in-service setting. At the conclusion of this course, student instructors will have the necessary understanding of the fundamentals of vehicle operations, vehicle dynamics, driver safety, teaching and coaching techniques, driving course design, remedial driver training, and legal liability. Throughout the week student instructors will design and teach new driving courses, hone their driving skills, participate in hands-on coaching exercises, and put their skills to work teaching law enforcement driving skills to novice drivers.
Attendees need to provide their own vehicles.
